Hosting - Trent Valley Partnership
This Midlands Rural Housing initiative has brought together four local authorities and three registered social landlords to encourage the provision of affordable housing for local people in villages.
The project covers Newark and Sherwood, Rushcliffe, East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire. The partner associations are NCHA, East Midlands Housing Group, Waterloo Housing Group and Trent & Dove Housing.
The District Councils and the RSLs fund the post. The post holder is tasked to
- Increase awareness of rural affordable housing in the area
- Identify those parishes with high levels of housing need within South Derbyshire, Rushcliffe, Newark and Sherwood and East Staffordshire
- Encourage and support Parish Councils in identifying the housing need and ways to address affordable housing
- Undertake rural housing needs studies
- Identify sites for rural affordable housing
- Work with partner Registered Social Landlords to develop
affordable housing for local people.
