Scheme Design
Often the most critical, but enjoyable, phase of any development. Midlands Rural Housing becomes the nexus between the local community, architects and local government planners – as well as various other specialists – in order to design a scheme that meets the needs of the community on the site chosen by them.
It can take several attempts to come up with a scheme that satisfies the needs of all parties, but the aim of the exercise is to design a scheme that blends in with the local built environment, that the parish council are proud to be associated with and that the prospective residents will be proud to live in.
Once the parish council is happy with the design Midlands Rural Housing will work with them to carry out a full community consultation. This involves mounting an exhibition in the village hall and inviting the whole community to view the design and formally comment on its contents.
Feedback from this exercise will be passed to the Parish Council for consideration and any major issues will be taken on board and the design changed where necessary. This is also a great opportunity for prospective tenants to view what may be their homes for the first time and people can get quite excited.
