Planning Application

Midlands Rural Housing specialises in ‘exception site’ development for affordable housing in rural communities. The English countryside is very heavily protected by planning law and Midlands Rural Housing will work on behalf of the local community to present a case for an ‘exception’ to be made in order to meet the affordable housing needs of local people. Years of experience and very good relationships with the local planning authorities means that our success rate in this complicated area planning law is 100%.

The Parish Council are joint applicants with Midlands Rural Housing on the planning application.  The planning application includes the restrictions that ensure the houses are only made available to people with a strong local connection to the parish.

Midlands Rural Housing will take the lead on the development of all the plans and documents required to make a planning application. The Parish Council will be consulted on their contents before the planning application is submitted.

After the planning application is submitted, Midlands Rural Housing will work with the local authority and its development partners to secure funding for the scheme and tender for contractors. We will manage the scheme through construction, consult with the parish council on resident nomination and finally organise an opening event to celebrate the schemes completion and the handing over of keys to residents.

After this Midlands Rural Housing will continue to provide a high quality housing management service to the residents of the new homes, and ensure that the homes are maintained to the highest standards.
