Customers and Context
EMH has four operational areas. These vary considerably and the ethnic profile of EMH residents can be shown here.
Leicester (East Office) - This office provides services to the highest proportion of non white households. We are recognised within a range of different communities including the Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Caribbean, African and Somalian communities, as a major provider of homes, particularly within the Charnwood and Evington wards of Leicester. The Leicester office also provides services to homes in Melton BC, South Kesteven DC, Rutland CC, Harborough DC, Blaby DC and Oadby & Wigston BC.
Coalville (West Office) - The Coalville Office also provides services to homes in North West Leicestershire DC, South Derbyshire DC and Hinckley & Bosworth DC.
Sutton in Ashfield (North Office) - This office provides services to homes in: Amber Valley, Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Broxtowe, Chesterfield, Derby City, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood, North East Derby, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe.
Northampton (South Office) - The Northampton Office provides services to homes in Northampton BC, Kettering BC, Wellingborough BC, South Northants DC, Daventry DC and East Northants DC.
In addition to these operational areas, EMH has a supported housing team. This team is based at head office and manages all the supported housing schemes, this includes directly managed stock as well as schemes run by agencies. The schemes are located throughout all our areas of operation.
Foundation Housing Association (FHA) is a specialist Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) housing association providing housing and support services. The association was established to meet the housing needs of the African Caribbean community in Leicester. It continues to deliver this aim and to respond to the emerging and continuing needs of other black and minority ethnic group including the vulnerable. FHA has particular expertise in providing support to people with mental health problems, and specialises in support for such people from minority ethnic groups.

Midlands Rural Housing is a specialist management and consultancy service provider for Rural Housing. It operates in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Derbyshire providing services on behalf of a range of rural and mainstream housing associations. The rural nature of their stock is such that they tend to have very few residents from minority ethnic background. This reflects the population of the rural areas in which they work. However, strategies are in place to promote community cohesion and, where appropriate, assistance is provided to residents to help them to integrate with the rural communities into which they are moving.
